Spring Gardens is the London HQ of the British Council. It’s a space we’re familiar with, having created designs for many of the exhibitions hosted there.
Our task on this occasion was to create a small space exhibition which could run alongside larger scale exhibitions. So while people were drawn in by another project, they also had the opportunity to discover more details about the British Council’s activities. As this was focused on facts and figures for eight international regions, we created a stylised map and gave each region an identifiable colour and icon. Segmenting the information made factual information easier to understand as well as visually interesting. We also suggested a permanent metal, eight aperture, picture frame. This provides a permanent space for information across the eight regions - one that can be easily and cost-efficiently updated.
