Yorkshire Oak Frames
Brand Identity

Yorkshire Oak Frames came to us to relook at and develop their brand. Although their brand symbol was strong, this quality hadn’t followed through all the communications. This lack of attention to detail was detrimental in conveying the expertise, heritage, and premium quality of this timber frame brand.

The frames they create still use medieval carpentry skills, yet they’re manufactured for high-end clients and often modern constructions. This juxtaposition of the old and the new was important to communicate. We wanted to achieve the feel of a premium rural brand such as The National Trust - conveying respect for the traditional, with knowledge of the now. So we developed the brand colour palette and introduced a modern yet classic typeface, GT HAPTIK, with elements of the uppercase set we chose resembling the joints of timber framing.

Consistency elevates the brand and communicates professional quality, so we developed the brand across livery, signage, uniforms and a fully optimised website for desktop and mobile. The photography we commissioned brought the craftsmanship to life, focusing on the natural materials, tools and the people using them to hammer home the brand’s hand-crafted quality and expertise.
